Biblical Precepts Encoded in the
United States Constitution

There are at least
20 Biblical precepts encoded in the Federal Constitution by our founders. They
are as follows:
Article 1, §1, Clause 3
"...The actual Enumeration shall be made within three years after the first
Meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent Term
of ten Years in such Manner as they shall by Law direct..."
Numbers 1:2
"Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel,
after their families, of the house of their fathers, with the number of their
names, every male by their polls;"
Article 1, §8, Clause 1
"The Congress shall have Power to lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts
and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general
Welfare of the United States..."
Romans 13: 4,6
4.) "For he is the minister of God
to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth
not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute
wrath upon him that doeth evil." 6.) "For this cause pay ye tribute
also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very
thing."
Article 1, §8, Clause 5
"To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix
the Standard Weights and Measures."
Leviticus 19:35-36
"Ye shall do no unright- eousness
in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure, Just balances, just weights,
a just e’-phah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am the Lord your God, which
brought you out of Egypt."
Article 1, §8, Clause 6
"To provide for the Punishment of counterfeiting the Securites and the
current Coin of the United States."
Exodus 20:15
"Thou shalt not steal."
Article 1, §8, Clause 15
"To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union,
suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions."
Nehemiah 4:4
"And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers,
and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord,
which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your
daughters, your wives, and your houses."
Article 1, §10, Clause 1
"No State shall...emit Bills of Credit; make any Thing but gold or silver
coin a tender in payment of debt..."
Leviticus 19:35-36
(as stated above)
Article II, §2, Clause 5
"No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United
States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to
the Office of President..."
Dueteronomy 17:15
"Thou shalt in any wise set him
king over thee, whom the Lord thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren
shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which
is not thy brother."
Article II, §4, Clause 1
"The President, Vice President and all Civil Officers of the United States,
shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for and Conviction of, Treason,
Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors."
Isaiah 22:19
"And I will drive thee from thy
station, and from thy state shall thee be pulled down."
Article III, §1, Clause 1
"The judicial Power of the United States, shall be vested in one supreme
Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain
and establish. The Judges, both of the supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold
their offices during good Behaviour..."
Exodus 18:21-22
"Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as
fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be
rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of
tens: And let them judge the people at all seasons: and it shall be, that every
great matter they shall bring unto thee, but every small matter they shall
judge: so shall it be easier for thyself and they shall bear the burden with
thee."
Article III, §2, Clause 2
"In all Cases affecting Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls,
and those in which a State shall be Party, the Supreme Court shall have original
jurisdiction. In all the other Cases before mentioned, the supreme Court shall
have appellate Jurisdiction, both as to Law and Fact, with such Exceptions, and
under such regulations as Congress shall make."
Exodus 18:26
"And they judged the people at all
seasons: the hard causes they brought unto Moses, but every small matter they
judged themselves."
Article III, §2, Clause 3
"The trial of all Crimes, except in Cases of Impeachment, shall be by
Jury..."
Leviticus 19:15
"Ye shall do no unrighteousness in
judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person
of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbor."
Article III, §3, Clause 1
"...No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Tesitmony of two
Witnesses to the same overt Act..."
Dueteronomy 17:6
"At the mouth of two witnesses, or
three witness, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the
mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death."
First Amendment
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or
prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."
II Chronicles 11:16
"And after them out of all the
tribes of Israel such as set their hearts to seek the Lord God of Israel came to
Jerusalem, to sacrifice unto the Lord God of their fathers."
"...or abridging the freedom of speech, or
of the press; or
the right of the people peaceably to assemble..."
Psalm 119:44-45
"And I will walk at liberty; for I
seek thy precepts. I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and will
not be ashamed."
