Limestone
native, Elizabeth Edgecomb recently released her solo debut CD And
So it Goes: Songs of Transition.
Edgecomb combines a smooth voice with well-executed piano to pull together a light jazz solo debut album.
Available on CD, And So It Goes subtly reminds one of the sounds of Tori Amos, Billy Joel and Fiona Apple all rolled into one.
She began studying classical piano at the age of five, and has always enjoyed volunteerism. She has served as a representative in many capacities, including the 2000 Miss Limestone, where she won the Maine Potato Queen crown later that year. Edgecomb was also Maine's State Cherry Blossom Princess, as well as 2003 Miss Maine.
Chosen by the Maine State Society of Washington D.C., she was given the opportunity to meet First Lady Laura Bush and take part in Washington D.C's Cherry Blossom Festival as a worldwide ambassador for the state of Maine. As Miss Maine of the year 2003, she won a national non-finalist talent award at the 2004 Miss America pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey with her rendition of Chopin's Fantasie Impromptu IV.
Edgecomb currently holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education, and is currently matriculating a graduate degree in music. I hold part-time positions at five different schools, in four separate districts, said Edgecomb. My schools are: Cumberland, Chebeague Island, St. Patricks, St. Josephs, and Waynfleet schools. At the first four schools, Edgecomb teaches general music for Pre-K through grade 6; Waynfleet employs her to teach private piano lessons. I also own a private piano studio, and currently teach 47 students per week out of my home.
Edgecomb is extremely dedicated to the arts as she is an enthusiast in attempting proficiency amongst countless instruments, takes dance classes, and has become an accomplished songwriter.
She is a dynamic speaker and actively models, teaches, volunteers, and performs throughout the state of Maine.
The Limestone Chamber of Commerce held a fundraiser for their Fourth of July Festivities last spring and asked me to be the Emcee for the evening's talent show. I performed a classical piano piece there.
The Limestone Chamber of Commerce currently has Edgecomb scheduled for their Spring 2007 fundraising concert. I have been asked back to perform singing and accompanying myself with songs from my album, or potentially songs which will be recorded in the near future for a forthcoming album. The town of Limestone has been and continues to be so very supportive of me I'm excited to have an opportunity to give back.
Her CD is being distributed statewide (mostly southern Maine) at Bull Moose Music. It is also available locally at: Limestone IGA, Parents Country Store, Boutique Unique, and the Limestone Chamber of Commerce; County Quick Stop, and Mr. Paperback Books in Caribou; Mars Hill Pharmacy, and at Heidi's Tea Room, Presque Isle.
