Originally scheduled for September 27—28, the event had to be postponed, due to rain.

The two-day event was compressed into one day, starting on a cool, but sunny, 30 degree October morning.

Events for the day were a youth bike race, adult bike race, obstacle course and downhill race.

“We have riders from throughout Maine joining local riders from Aroostook County and New Brunswick,” said Chad McPherson, event director. “These races will determine cross-country race and point series champions in Novice, Sport and Expert categories.”

The NHSC features over 20 miles of hand-made and machine-made single track. The trails wind through different forest types and vary from smooth and fluid to narrow and technical. Moderate to expert line options such as log skinnies, exposed bedrock outcrops, and natural drops can be found on some trails.
