Local Police to Enforce International Law

By: David Deschesne

"The (United Nations) Charter has become ‘the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.’" - US Senate Report; Review of the United Nations Charter, p. 239.

The United Nations charter was ratified by the Senate and signed by the president in 1945, thereby empowering it, along with the Constitution, as the "Supreme Law of the Land" per article VI, section 2 of the US Constitution in spite of any State law to the contrary.

Since all local police officers, sheriff deputies and State troopers are bound to enforce the laws of the State and United States, they are now, by default, the enforcers of international law.

All other public officials are, too, required to enforce United Nations law, including judges, Forest Service, Parks and Land Management, etc.

In the 1990s President Clinton turned control of all National Parks over to the management of various United Nations regulatory agencies which merely use our Bureau of Land Management and Forest Rangers as their agents. With the passage of the "Desertification Treaty" in October of 2000 (Congressional Record: Page S10665) upwards of 90% of the United States land mass was surrendered to foreign, international regulation through the UN.

The United Nations is an unelected bureaucracy, established by the Council on Foreign Relations, whose goals are, among many, dissolution of US sovereignty and global population reduction of up to 80%.

Representative Ron Paul (R-Texas) has introduced HR 1146 in the US House of Representatives for the past several years to withdraw the United States from the UN and remove the UN from US soil.

Applications to Homeschool No Longer Necessary in Maine

AUGUSTA - On May 7, 2003 the Maine legislature passed LD 160, "An Act To Amend the Laws Governing Home Instruction." It was signed by Governor Baldacci on May 16.

The Act lifted the requirements of parents applying to the Maine Department of Education for permission to homeschool their children.

Homeschooling in Maine has undergone a drastic increase over the past 10 years. Starting with only a couple hundred children, the movement has grown to over 4,000 now receiving the three "R’s" from their parents.

The Constitution of Maine does not mandate public school education, it merely compels the towns to make it available to those who choose to use it (Article VIII, Part First, Section 1.) The Maine Constitution also stipulates that whatever school the Legislature funds, it may also control (ibid.)

It is that ‘state control’ of public schools that has many parents opting out of that voluntary system. It has been a long-held maxim that the power to educate should never be vested with those who have the power to tax; because a potentially corrupt political system may seek to keep many of the truths of its corruption secret from the children it educates as they are the future electorate and could, quite possibly, vote them out of existence.

Ben Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, and Andrew Johnson were all homeschooled without state approval or government permission. Now Maine children can be, too.

How a Lawnmower can Reduce Your Tax Burden

By: David Deschesne

Most people go to work, convert their labor into Federal Reserve Notes and pay anywhere from 15% to 30% for that privilege. They then take the notes they have left over and purchase gasoline for their lawn mower and pay, again 15% to 30% of the price in taxes to State and Federal agencies. After all that, they exert even more labor pushing a gasoline lawn mower around their yard in order to either maintain or slightly increase the value of their land by keeping the grass short. With this method of cutting grass, much labor has been frivolously wasted in taxation.

The mechanics of reducing your tax burden are in the lawn mower, itself. By simply changing the type of lawn mower, a person may, indeed reduce all of the taxes associated therewith. My suggestion is in the capacity of a "reel mower."

Most of today's generation do not know what a reel mower is, older people do, however. A reel mower is a lawn mower from yesteryear. It is all manual. The blades are parallel with the ground and are connected to the wheels with a gearing mechanism. As you push the mower, the blades spin and cut the grass. Thus, the power for the mower is generated by the human pushing it. Reel mowers are still available at some hardware stores for about $100.00, but you have to look around.

With a reel mower, you eliminate the labor which you needed to expend in order to obtain the FRNs to purchase the gasoline, thereby eliminating the tax on said labor, which you would have otherwise paid. Since you are not purchasing gasoline, you do not pay any of those associated taxes, either. However, you still have to push a mower around the yard - there's no getting out of that. But, with approximately the same amount of labor you exerted with a gasoline mower in order to obtain cut grass, a reel mower will achieve the same result. In the end, you exert half as much labor and pay no tax with a reel mower; thereby freeing up more of your precious time for other more important and productive things (may I suggest reading, or spending time with your family.)

Now, will the politicians and bureaucrats we now serve allow us to get away with this form of "tax evasion?"

Feds Ignore We the People

By Devvy Kidd newswithviews.com

In July 1999, Bob Schulz, Chairman of the We the People Foundation based in up state New York, began a series of seminars and conferences at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. The purpose of these fact finding events was to invite authorized representatives of our servant government to attend and answer legitimate and important questions about the fraudulent income tax and related systems. Each and every time, despite respectful invitations sent registered mail to the IRS, and other various government officials, not once did the government ever send anyone to attend. This is our government, they work for us. This government is by, of and for the people, not the corrupted individuals who dominate our elected work force. The Bill of Rights, tells the government that we are born with these rights and that they may never abridge, take away or modify them for political expediency or to enslave Americans on our own land. One of those iron-clad rights is the right to petition for redress of grievance found in the First Amendment. Since 1999, hundreds of thousands of Americans have now become aware of the efforts of Bob Schulz and all those who have supported WTP Foundation’ activities and this massive effort to get the federal government to honor this First Amendment right.

We the People Chairman Bob Schulz, an engineer by trade, has been meticulously building a machine big enough to force the federal government to answer petitions for redress of grievances. If you want to become a part of this effort, please visit the website at www.givemeliberty.org or call WTP at (443) 482-3311; 1419 Forest Drive, Annapolis, MD 21403

A Former Special Forces Soldier Responds to President Bush's Invitation for Iraqis to Attack US Troops

By: Stan Goff

In 1970, when I arrived at my unit, Company A, 4th Battalion/503rd Infantry, 173rd Airborne Brigade, in what was then the Republic of Vietnam, I was charged up for a fight. I believed that if we didn't stop the communists in Vietnam, we'd eventually be fighting this global conspiracy in the streets of Hot Springs, Arkansas. I'd been toughened by Basic Training, Infantry Training and Parachute Training, taught how to use my weapons and equipment, and I was confident in my ability to vanquish the skinny unter-menschen. So I was dismayed when one of my new colleagues--a veteran who'd been there ten months--told me, "We are losing this war."

Not only that, he said, if I wanted to survive for my one year there, I had to understand one very basic thing. All Vietnamese were the enemy, and for us, the grunts on the ground, this was a race war. Within one month, it was apparent that everything he told me was true, and that every reason that was being given to the American public for the war was not true.

We had a battalion commander whom I never saw. He would fly over in a Loach helicopter and give cavalier instructions to do things like "take your unit 13 kilometers to the north." In the Central Highlands, 13 kilometers is something we had to hack out with machetes, in 98-degree heat, carrying sometimes 90 pounds over our body weights, over steep, slippery terrain. The battalion commander never picked up a machete as far as we knew, and after these directives he'd fly back to an air-conditioned headquarters in LZ English near Bong-son. We often fantasized together about shooting his helicopter down as a way of relieving our deep resentment against this faceless, starched and spit-shined despot.

Yesterday, when I read that US Commander-in-Chief George W. Bush, in a moment of blustering arm-chair machismo, sent a message to the 'non-existent' Iraqi guerrillas to "bring 'em on," the first image in my mind was a 20-year-old soldier in an ever-more-fragile marriage, who'd been away from home for 8 months. He participated in the initial invasion, and was told he'd be home for the 4th of July. He has a newfound familiarity with corpses, and everything he thought he knew last year is now under revision. He is sent out into the streets of Fallujah (or some other city), where he has already been shot at once or twice with automatic weapons or an RPG, and his nerves are raw. He is wearing Kevlar and ceramic body armor, a Kevlar helmet, a load carrying harness with ammunition, grenades, flex-cuffs, first-aid gear, water, and assorted other paraphernalia. His weapon weighs seven pounds, ten with a double magazine. His boots are bloused, and his long-sleeve shirt is buttoned at the wrist. It is between 100-110 degrees Fahrenheit at midday. He's been eating MRE's three times a day, when he has an appetite in this heat, and even his urine is beginning to smell like preservatives. Mosquitoes and sand flies plague him in the evenings, and he probably pulls a guard shift every night, never sleeping straight through. He and his comrades are beginning to get on each others' nerves. The rumors of 'going-home, not-going-home' are keeping him on an emotional roller coaster. Directives from on high are contradictory, confusing, and often stupid. The whole population seems hostile to him and he is developing a deep animosity for Iraq and all its people--as well as for official narratives.

This is the lad who will hear from someone that George W. Bush, dressed in a suit with a belly full of rich food, just hurled a manly taunt from a 72-degree studio at the 'non-existent' Iraqi resistance.

This de facto president is finally seeing his poll numbers fall. Even chauvinist paranoia has a half-life, it seems. His legitimacy is being eroded as even the mainstream press has discovered now that the pretext for the war was a lie. It may have been control over the oil, after all. Anti-war forces are regrouping as an anti-occupation movement. Now, exercising his one true talent--blundering--George W. Bush has begun the improbable process of alienating the very troops upon whom he depends to carry out the neo-con ambition of restructuring the world by arms.

Somewhere in Balad, or Fallujah, or Baghdad, there is a soldier telling a new replacement, "We are losing this war."

Coffee Time

Most people drink hot brewed coffee and think that is the only way it can be prepared. Another method of brewing coffee is "cold brewed."

Cold brewed coffee retains more of the taste of the coffee and is less bitter. Also, because it is brewed in cold water, not hot, it doesn’t absorb the fats and acid from the coffee bean; therefore, it is easier on sensitive stomachs.

The way to make cold brewed coffee is to place about a half a cup of your favorite coffee mix in a quart of water. Let it soak for about 2 hours, then screen it through a filter or cheesecloth. You will then have what is known as "coffee concentrate." Coffee concentrate is very strong - you can drink it if you want to, but it is better if diluted at a ratio of 2:1 or 3:1 with plain water. After the coffee is brewed, place it in the refridgerator and warm up only what you want to drink. Now that coffee break is over, let’s get back to work.

It's All Greek to Me

Most of the English language has its foundation in Latin and Greek. The word ‘gymnasium’, for example, comes from two Greek words: gymnos - naked; and gymnazein - to exercise naked. So, a gymnasium is a room where one exercises while naked.

Fart and Burp Tax

By LIAM DANN

NEW ZEALAND - Farmers will be taxed on the flatulence of their livestock in a bid to reduce New Zealand's contribution to global warming.

The levy could cost a typical family farmer up to $300 a year. Larger corporate farmers could pay up to $10,000.

Sheep will be levied at 9c each and cows at up to 72c under the Government's proposals.

Deer and goat farmers will also be taxed.

The money will be used for research on meeting New Zealand's Kyoto Protocol commitment to lower greenhouse gas emissions.

The new Agriculture Emissions Research body will be financed by sheep, cattle, deer and goat farmers and will cost $8.4 million a year.

The levy, expected to be in place by the middle of next year, has infuriated farming organizations.

"That's overkill," said Meat New Zealand chairman Jeff Grant.

"This is a public good rather than an industry good. It should be funded by the Government, not farmers."

Livestock accounts for about half of New Zealand's greenhouse gas emissions.

Cop Fired for Smoking

FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) A police officer who was fired for violating an obscure state law banning smoking among public safety workers plans to fight his dismissal, which was based on an anonymous letter.

Wayne Jeffrey, a seven-year veteran of the Fall River force, was fired May 29 after an internal investigation, prompted by an unsigned letter that claimed he smoked tobacco at a party.

A 1988 state law states that police officers and firefighters are subject to immediate termination if they are found to be using tobacco products either on- or off-duty.

Jeffrey plans to appeal for arbitration or a civil service hearing. History is against him, however. The state Supreme Judicial Court in 1997 upheld the firing of a Plymouth officer who was caught smoking four years earlier in her cruiser.

The Legislature passed the law to accompany legislation that enables public safety officials to receive special disability benefits easier than the average worker. Without the law, proponents argue, doctors are unable to determine if a heart or lung illness is work related.

Under the law, all new public safety hires must sign a contract, as Jeffrey did, pledging not to smoke tobacco products.
